Errance unveils a scintillating second single, ‘IDYLL’

Canadian producer, director, and composer Errance delivered his second single, ‘Idyll’, on April 12th, 2024 via Société Holographique de Montréal. The track follows the release of his debut single, ‘Guidance’, which received support from CLASH Magazine, BBC Radio 6’s Tom Ravenscroft and Deb Grant. Errance is the solo musical project of Gabriel Gagnon, who is beginning to carve out a place for his own musical expression in the wake of a process of deep introspection, self-growth and a profound connection to nature. Both singles are lifted from his upcoming self-produced album, Errance, set for release on May 17th, 2024. Before embarking on his solo project, Gabriel has boasted a prolific career as a producer and composer across various industries. He also shares a close musical relationship and music house with Hologramme. As Errance, he delivers a sound inspired by the likes of Floating Points, Mount Kimbie, Max Cooper and Jon Hopkins.

‘Idyll’ represents a shift from the deep, reverberant sound of its predecessor, highlighting Errance’s versatility as a producer. Unlike ‘Guidance’, which featured a languid, organic house vibe with a lively four-on-the-floor rhythm, ‘Idyll’ is a delicate progressive composition characterized by a breakbeat that softly undulates while the bass never drops quite drops, but rather ebbs and flows. Maintaining Errance’s trademark organic essence, the track is adorned with subtle ambient elements that gracefully intertwine with the rhythmic pulse, adding depth to an already meticulous instrumental arrangement.

Errance shared: This song is an ode to spring, to reconnection, crafted with natural elements and enhanced with analog and electronic processes. It evokes the need to return home, to reconnect with something or someone that was gone for a while.”
