Bicep have announced their new single ‘CHROMA 007 STEALL’, a collaboration with fellow Belfast native Hammer, out now on CHROMA.

The release marks the first time the childhood friends have worked together on a track since 2015’s Dahlia EP, and arrives as the latest output from Bicep as part of their ambitious CHROMA project: comprising a record label, a series of curated events, a brand new and constantly evolving AV/DJ show, and a unique visual identity created in collaboration with David Rudnick and his Terrain studio.

‘STEALL’ – named after a waterfall the trio hiked to together on the slopes of the famed Scottish mountain Ben Nevis –  is a track that will be familiar to anyone who has attended one of Bicep’s CHROMA performances or events over the past few years, not least their recent sold-out CHROMA takeovers in London’s Finsbury Park and Brighton Beach, where it delivered a feverous moment of peak-time energy to the proceedings.

The duo are also set to play a special show under their DOVE alias as part of Fabric’s upcoming 25th birthday event in London on October 12th, and will mark a poignant moment for the pair, seeing Matt McBriar return to playing out for the first time since revealing he had recently undergone major brain surgery to remove a large and rare (non-cancerous) Craniopharyngioma tumour on his pituitary gland.

Their CHROMA AV/DJ shows – which are actually more of a hybrid between DJ and live, involving the use of several pedals and a drum machine they can use on stage – have already taken in headline slots at Glastonbury, Coachella, Wilderness festival. Their recent North American tour included a headline show at Brooklyn Mirage, plus stops at Portola, Making Time and CRSSSD festivals, and they have upcoming shows at MIRA – Barcelona’s  Digital Arts Festival – in November, Manchester’s Warehouse Project, and a huge return to London’s 15k capacity Drumsheds arena in December.

‘STEALL’ is the latest in the CHROMA series of releases, and follows the two previous singles under their B.D.B alias (the collaborative project with Benjamin Damage) A.L.O.E and ‘L.A.V.A;  ROLA; Bi83 (as DOVE); and inaugural Bicep CHROMA single ‘HELIUM. Bicep also recently took a deep dive into the CHROMA project and their career to date as part of Resident Advisor’s long-running Exchange podcast series – listen to that here
