Sad Madona is a solo-project from Paris, France, fusing elements of darkwave, coldwave, post-punk, and shoegaze to create a captivating and emotive sound that he describes as “dramatic dance” – a sound that is as emotive as it is danceable. Ellen Allien is an iconic figure in the techno scene and a visionary heart of Berlin’s electronic community – well known in cold wave circles for creating her techno edits of bands such as Ash Code and Lebanon Hanover.
Of her dancefloor approved remix Ellen says: “I love Sad Madona’s music, so I was so happy when he asked me to do a remix, which we will bring out on bpitch this summer. I made the remix in Ibiza over the winter. His piece of art I transformed to a piece of allien dance floor ufo art. I love to bring my favourite songwriters and cold wave bands into my DJ techno sets. I am touched deeply by melodies – I’m addicted to melancholic catchy and uplifting melodies from my favourite synths …synths are magic.”
